The court has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to pay compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the 2 women who were illegally detained for 4 months under the Guntar Act. TT News

CHENNAI: A court has ordered 2 women who were illegally detained for 4 months under the Gangster Act to pay Rs 5 lakh each as compensation. The Madras High Court has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to pay compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the 2 women. Even after the Tamil Nadu Advisory Corporation refused to accept the gangster’s legal arrest, the judge ruled that his imprisonment was illegal.
