Patna:- Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today formally inaugurated the Ramlila Mahotsav and Ravanavadh programme, a celebration of the victory of good over evil, on Vijayadashami at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was first welcomed by the organizers with flowers, religious books, clothes and Paag in this Ravana Dahan program organized by Sri Sri Dussehra Committee Trust. The chief minister released a balloon and gave a message to maintain peace and harmony in the state. After this, the Chief Minister performed aarti to Shri Ram and Shri Laxman and applied Tilak to them. Then effigies of Kumbhkaran, Meghnad and Ravana were burnt alternately, symbolizing evil. The Chief Minister felicitated the artisans who made the statues of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhkaran by presenting mementos.

The program was attended by Finance Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Congress State President Mr. Madan Mohan Jha, MLA Mrs. Reena Yadav, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri. Dr. Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister. S. Siddharth, Secretary Dr. Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary Building Construction and Commissioner of Patna Division Mr. Kumar Ravi, Patna District Magistrate Mr. Chandrasekhar Singh, Inspector General of Police Patna Central Mr. Rakesh Rathi, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Manavjit Singh Dhillon, Former General Secretary Mr. Citizen Council Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh alias Chhotu Singh, President of Sri Sri Dussehra Samiti Trust Mr. Kamal Nopani, Secretary Mr. Arun Kumar, Vice President Smt. Sushma Sahu, members of Sri Sri Dussehra Samiti Trust and other dignitaries attended the event.
